This will have been our 4th visit to this amazing resort! Consistent quality and outstanding service welcoming you back each time and, somehow remembering you from your last visit! We stayed in a preferred room in Building 4 nearest the Preferred Club and close to all amenities. Kudos to our concierges Monica and Francisco who are always so willing to help with anything. At Market Cafe, kudos to Eliazar for running such a great place and staff of the 2 Diego’s, Jesus and Javier. At Seaside Grill for the amazing service William and Sylvester. Can’t forget Michelle Manager and Jose for treating us so well! At the various pools, exemplary service from Antonio and Usana, Isaac (Newton) and Ruben for keeping us in the shade and wait staff Cruz and Ana for keeping us hydrated. At Portofino, we found our waiter extraordinaire Diego without glasses remembering us and the food we enjoyed on past trips! Our room attendant Dulce took the very best care of our room at all times. Max of the Entertainment team always kept an eye out for us and pleasant conversations. A callout to Raymond one of the managers who we always kept bumping into asking how things were going and anything he could do to make our stay better. Everyone in the resort should be complimented for their efforts and a main reason we look forward to returning for a fifth time. You really won’t be disappointed in this gem of a resort!

This will be one of many reviews because I have to call certain staff members out for their superior efforts. Firstly to call out Alan and Antoni. We did the snorkeling turtle tour this morning and it was amazing. They were very attentive but allowed us to float and swim at our own pace. Managed to point out all the wildlife and we saw 6 turtles. Big shout out to Alan and Antoni

We've been here twice and absolutely love it, and can't wait to come back again. The service is out of this world and everyone is so friendly. The atmosphere is wonderful. There jungle vibe is great and also means you can find shade or sun. The room is easily the best hotel room I've ever stayed in. The food is good - sometimes just ok, sometimes excellent. It's an all-inclusive, so don't expect anything amazing from the drinks. The nightly shows are extremely well done and fun, and there's always something special for lunch. Special shout-out to the two concierges we've had one our two trips, Karen and Karime. They really to make the experience special.

Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya is gorgeous, top notch service, out of this world staff and activities. We enjoyed aqua strong with Max, aqua bicycling with Alan and Carlos, snorkeling with turtles-Alejandro, painting with Carlos, fresh tuna (blue fin) instruction and taste test, just to name a few activities. Our concierge, Karen was helpful, personable. Our wait staff A+. Wilem was terrific. The rooms and food were amazing! We hope to visit again.

Beautiful property. Great beach and pools. The resort is not overly big but it can feel big the first few days as you get to know your way around. The non-preferred buildings are far from the beach and main pool. Not a problem for us but some people with mobility concerns should consider preferred club buildings only. Bring ear plugs if you're a lighter sleeper. The hotel room doors slam so loud and hard that the room can shake. The door to your neighbour's room is directly beside yours. Girls beside us came back to the room at 4:30am the first night we arrived which wasn't exactly what I expected at this type of resort but not the resort's fault. Noise from above if you're not on the top floor can also be quite disruptive. If they would put sliders on the desk chair and ottoman this noise could easily be avoided. Beds are super firm which isn't our preference. Other than that this resort was amazing and you will enjoy everything else it has to offer! Turtles, stingrays, and colourful fish right off the resort beach are a highlight. Restaurant and bar staff work very hard.
