Having stayed at secrets resorts before we had very high expectations we were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived to our departure we were treated like royalty. A very efficient check in at the preferred club and on to our room .The room in building 5 was a good size and very comfortable and clean ,thanks to Flora our maid who done a great job .Our building concierge Luis delt with our requests for extra hangers straight away ,they were in the room on our return from breakfast. We started most days in the market cafe for breakfast excellent selection of hot and cold food most days .Alejandro and santiargo not only served us but entertained us with the fun way they done the job .Everything we ate at all the restaurants was of a very high standard and presented like a work of art. The beach had a bit of seaweed this is common in May A team of people were on each day clearing up this ,maybe something to consider. It wasn't a problem for us, we had a great time on the beach . Alejandro the beach concierge greeted us each morning with a great sence of humour and Karla always made sure we hard a drink .The entertainment team done a great job bike tour and Turtle painting both fun evening shows also very good .Every member of staff went out of there way to make sure we had a great holiday .As well as the above mentioned people Ayram (Himitsu) Patricia (oceana) Jordan (Bordeaux) and Damian( seaside grill ) all went the extra mile .Great location great hotel and the best thing the staff hope we can return soon

This is our second stay at Secrets Akumal and it didn’t disappoint. We had a wonderful time at the resort. We wanted to thank our concierge Ricardo for helping make our vacation so enjoyable. We especially appreciated the birthday decoration on our door and in our room, as well as the delicious chocolate-covered strawberries. Those thoughtful touches made the celebration feel extra special. Thank you also for arranging the large bottle of vodka and Clamato juice for our room. It was the perfect way to relax after a hot day by the pool. We do have a few suggestions that we hope may be helpful. First, it would be beneficial to have a dedicated staff member available for Preferred check-in, especially in the evenings. When we arrived after 6:00 PM, we were escorted to the Preferred Lounge but then waited more than 40 minutes for someone to check us in because they were assisting other guests who had already checked in and had questions. After a long day of travel, we were eager to get to our room, have dinner, and rest. Considering the cost of the first day of a vacation, spending over an hour on the check-in process after 6 PM was disappointing. Second, while we truly appreciate not having to make restaurant reservations, the dinner wait times could be improved. On three separate occasions, we waited over an hour around 9:00 PM to be seated (at 10 pm), all while seeing multiple empty tables inside the restaurants. It seemed that the issue may have been staffing or kitchen capacity rather than table availability. If long waits are unavoidable, it would be much more comfortable to wait in our air-conditioned room rather than in the warm common areas. Extending the range of the restaurant buzzers would be a great improvement and would allow guests to relax comfortably while waiting. Our favorite restaurant by far was Oceana. We loved the selection of fresh seafood, and I will be dreaming about the warm mussel casserole for a long time. The chef even surprised us with lobster tails, which made an already wonderful evening even more special. It was truly a magical meal and one of the highlights of our trip. We also wanted to mention the beach conditions. We understand that the sargassum is seasonal and beyond the resort's control, but during our stay the beach was heavily covered and not really usable. As a result, this became strictly a pool vacation for us. At times there was a noticeable seaweed odor, but it certainly did not ruin our trip or diminish our overall enjoyment of the resort. What truly sets this resort apart from others are the little touches. We loved the mimosa, ice cream, and fruit carts around the pool, the different lunch offerings throughout the day, and the variety of atmospheres offered by the three different pools. These details created a unique and memorable experience. We would also like to give a special shout-out to Efron, our pool server. He was always friendly, attentive, and made sure our drinks never ran empty. We absolutely loved the jungle atmosphere (despite getting lost a few times) and unique vibe of the resort and cannot wait to return. Thank you again for everything you did to make our stay special.

Our stay at Secrets Akumal was absolutely incredible. One of the highlights was the Ronqueo tuna carving event, which was fascinating, entertaining and delicious. We also thoroughly enjoyed the bike tour lead by Mario and Carlos, which was a fun and engaging way to learn about Akumal and explore the local town. A special thank you to Mario, whose exceptional service and genuine kindness made our trip even more memorable. He consistently went above and beyond. His hospitality truly exemplifies the level of service that sets Secrets Akumal apart. We would also like to thank Andrea and Carlos for their wonderful hospitality throughout our stay. Their friendliness, attentiveness, and dedication to making guests feel welcome did not go unnoticed and greatly enhanced our experience. From the outstanding staff to the unique activities and excellent dining experiences, Secrets Akumal exceeded our expectations. We can’t wait to return!
