I went as a solo female, aged 27. great experience. my first solo trip ever and it went great. super safe, and I walked the strip at night each night, no issues. I took a taxi to rainforest adventure and did zip lining, alone again, made friends and once again, super safe. the country in general is full of super nice people. at the hotel around day3, a weird smell came from my room. I let one of the concierge women know, and she said they were full (I believe it, it was super populated during my stay) so she couldn't move me. then about 20 mins later, the same woman came to my room and moved me up to an executive suite, free of cost! she really worked her magic. also at the rainforest zip lining place, be sure to just pay there, because I paid online and forgot o screenshot my receipt, they couldn't find my file, so I had to pay again, but they gave me a 50% discount bc it was a mutual discrepancy- such nice people! small island, and they drive on the right side so if you're from North America like me, you'll be okay driving. food is great as well. if youre gonna walk over to mayo beac to see the planes take off/land, be aware the sand slaps your legs like wild fire lol. but a good experience. im going back next January with my nephew because it was so great. lovely place, lovely people. also super close to the airport, like les than 15 mins.

It was a great experience. I'd like to give a shout out to the outdoor BBQ station staff who were working hard at all times no matter the heat and smoke, always keeping a smile. The buffet crew was also amazing. Reception staff was also nice.

We couldn't have chosen a better place to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary than Sonesta Ocean Point Resort. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel truly special. When we arrived at our room we received a plate of sweets and a bottle of champagne with a message of congratulations from GM Bernard it felt very sincere and we were very thankful for the thoughtfulness. Our room was very clean, cozy and comfortable, with a beautiful view of the ocean and the Maho area. The view was especially spectacular at night when the lights of the resort and the Maho area reflected the peacefulness around the area creating a lovely Caribbean atmosphere. The bed was so comfortable that we slept wonderfully. The staff throughout the resort were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We especially appreciated the kindness of Dianica, Johnathan AKA Smily Frank and Suddennie and others who went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The day of our anniversary the staff gave us a memory we will not forget. Dianica set a beautifully table for two with flowers, champagne and a spectacular oceanfront setting which gave us the most beautiful sunset. It was such a thoughtful surprise I shed a few tears of happiness. We truly felt celebrated. My husband ordered his favourite lamb shank and I had had grilled salmon both dishes with fresh vegetables and to follow cheesecake our favourite dessert The meal was delicious. These personal touches made the celebration feel even more meaningful. One of my favourite experiences was having a massage at the cabana overlooking the ocean. Listening to the water gently lapping against the rocks while receiving my massage was a wonderful and peaceful way to start the day. We are extremely grateful to the entire staff who helped us make our 50th anniversary celebration such a beautiful and unforgettable memory. Dianica your thoughtfulness, kindness and attention to detail made us feel genuinely cared for. Thank you Sonesta Ocean Point for helping us celebrate 50 years of marriage in such a beautiful way. My wife and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary here, along with a few family members. I was not overly pleased with this resort, for the price I don't think it was worth it. The resort advertises a welcome drink and a cold towel. We didn't receive that upon arrival. They advertise robes and slippers in your room. We never saw those items even after the room was refreshed and we were the anniversary couple and yes I did contact the hotel prior to inform them of the celebration. Some of our party complained of non-functioning or broken drawers in there room and outlets not working. I also understand the climate there can be pretty warm. However, the rooms was unbearable cold. There were several areas that could have been much cleaner, the corners outside the shower, water closet walls, and the walls inside the elevator looked greasy. The buffet is an okay amenity, but the food off the resort was much better. We encountered a few rude employees, especially at Cloud 9. Bonica wasn't friendly at all. I asked for a double cheeseburger and was told you can only have 1 patty. I think she forgot my visit is pays her salary. This venue offers a party environment every night at Cloud 9. We only saw it on Friday and Saturday there still was only a handful of people there. I was traveling with my travel agent so I'm sure will provide her own feedback. There was an emergency that occurred on our last day. There was never a announcement regarding the event and we were still required to checkout on time. Although we heard a loud boom and felt the building shake. Maurice at the adult only swim up bar was excellent, along with the spa center. Rose or Rosa at the buffet was a sweet heart.

Prepare yourself for a level of incompetence and disconnectedness you will have never seen at a resort in your life. Where do I begin with this poor experience. First, I arrived on a Thursday and booked a Butler Penthouse. I would suggest that you not do this unless it’s your first time. You will be sorely disappointed. The butlers are anything but quick or available! Second, it is almost like staying at 3 different places. The booking people, people at the resort, and people who handle food and beverages all work for 3 different places. No one knows how to communicate or work together. If you need a manager, prepare yourself to ask for one; talking to a manager will never be offered to you!! NEVER!!!! Lastly, if the hot water heater blows up during your stay like it did during mine, be prepared for them to tell you it’s not related to why you have cold water the night before it blew up. I wouldn’t have my literal worst enemy stay here.
