Just got back from our third stay at Couples Sans Souci and loved every part of it. The grounds are beautiful, the food is delicious, the atmosphere is sophisticated and the staff is amazing -- all without feeling fussy or overly fancy. It's fabulous. This resort really has it all as far as I'm concerned, and there are lots of little extras and hidden gems to discover; they've thought of everything that couples might want on vacation. They really make you feel taken care of -- gluten free? vegetarian? No problem. Need something? Just ask. It's great. There are lots of quiet spots to enjoy the views, a variety of excellent dining and bar options, beautiful curved beaches great for sunning, swimming, windsurfing, Hobie Cats, and other water sports, and plenty of lush trees and palapas for relaxing in the shade, and of course multiple pools and hot tubs throughout the property. If you're looking for a spring break vibe/non-stop party scene, look elsewhere; this is a distinctly grown-up place. If you're looking for a lush tropical paradise with a sophisticated charm, you'll be right at home at Couples Sans Souci. (COVID stuff: A negative test is required to travel to Jamaica. At the resort, guests are asked to wear a mask in enclosed spaces, sanitize hands before meals, and limit physical contact with the staff; pre-departure testing is included at the resort. Staff is masked and almost everything is outside or open air. Some features that would be hard to keep clean have been temporarily removed.)

Overall, CSS was a great resort. My wife and I don’t have any imminent plans to return, but we do hope to come back someday. This review is split up between to the good, improvement needed, and covid discussion. THE GOOD All-inclusive: This resort is almost completely all-inclusive. That includes food, drinks, activities, and excursions. Really the only things that cost extra would be gift shop items and massages. Also, no tips are allowed, but staff is rewarded when then they are mentioned in reviews and comments cards upon departure. The staff: the no tip policy absolutely works! All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. It didn’t seem fake either. Everyone we met seemed to be happy working there and happy we were there. Anthony at the main bar and Shanique at Bella Vista stick out to me, really everyone was very good. Food: the food ranged from good the very good. Apparently CSS hired a new head chef right before COVID last year and spent the shut down months training the rest of the kitchen staff. Not sure what the food was like before, but everyone we talked to said it had vastly improved Sunset Beach: If you have any desire to try out the AN experience... do it. The weirdest part was how quickly it felt normal to be walking around the beach with literally nothing. The people were friendly, but not weird or creepy at all (my wife and I’s biggest worry). It is a very safe and (not to be cliché) a freeing experience. Also, the sunsets are stunning at the namesake beach. Rooms: very clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable as well. We didn’t spend a ton of time in our room, but they were certainly adequate. NEEDS IMPROVEMENT Overall areas that needed improvement were pretty minor issues, but are as follows: Room Service/Mini bar service: I’m not sure if we ever got a 100% correct order from room service or with the mini bar. Usually they were close, but there always seemed to be at least one thing done wrong. Also, the time given for delivery on the app was wrong. Many times we waited an hour or more for service when the app showed about a 20 min wait. At the very least it would be nice to have an accurate wait time. Water activities: the resort has a ton of different waterfront activities, but the area human powered boats can go is quite small. I don’t think there’s really anything the resort can do, but it would’ve been nice to go out farther. COVID PRECAUTIONS The resort has done an excellent job balancing safety while preserving the resort experience. We felt safe while getting the break from COVID that we all need. Testing was a breeze and visiting now is as good of time as any.

This was our first trip to Jamaica and we were a little bit worried about traveling internationally during Covid, but we did and were so happy that we did. This was by far the best trip we have ever taken. We loved it so much that we were already talking about booking again before we even left. We have never repeated a vacation and couldn't understand why so many people keep coming back to the same place over and over until we visited San Souci. We totally get it now. This place feels like home and everyone that we met made us feel welcome and like we were family. It is not something you can really describe to others. You just need to experience it. We had a rough start to our year this year so this "No Worries" trip was just what we needed and it did exactly what we needed for us. We left relaxed and happy and were so glad that we went. It was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary and we are planning to try to make it an annual celebration going forward. We were the only couple on our shuttle from the airport and Jamaica was on curfew so the roads were pretty empty so we made it in record time, which we were happy about. Check in was smooth and easy and we did not get the room that we requested, but we had expected that. We had heard that only Penthouses in D were open so we never expected to be put in an E block penthouse, but we were willing to try it out. The room was beautiful, but we didn't love it like we had hoped. It had a pretty blocked ocean view and the balcony was only half the size of the penthouses in D. The next morning we asked if any of the penthouses in D were opening up in the next few days and it turned out that the room we had requested, D21, was opening up later that day. Perfect! They told us to pack our bags and enjoy our day at the beach and someone would come find us with our new keys when we were moved. It was so easy and great!! We could not have been happier with the service. The new room was exactly the room, view and balcony I had been dreaming about since booking our trip several months prior. We enjoyed the food and service at all of the restaurants and ordered room service twice during our visit. All of it was great so no complaints. We always seemed to end up the Bella Vista bar every evening and loved everyone that we met there. A few nights there was a DJ playing fun music and a bunch of us danced and had a blast. Other nights it was low key and just sitting around which was great too. We made it a habit to take a walk around the beautiful resort every morning after breakfast and boy was that a walk, but it was beautiful and a great workout for all of the food and drinks were enjoying all week. We had a couples massage by Ruth and Judith our second day and it was great!! My husband had never had one and he loved it as much as I did. I would definitely recommend getting one. We will likely do one every trip. We also decided to join two other couples on a boat ride with Dwight on the "Lobsta" our last day. That was such a beautiful and fun ride too. I would highly recommend it! We really can't think of anything that we didn't love about this trip. It was just what we needed and we can't wait to return (so much so that we just booked next year's trip today!). If you are on the fence about going, GO!! You will love it!

It was delightful to be back for our 4th visit. The staff was familiar and very enthusiastic that people were traveling again. Unfortunately no British and no Canadians who are normally very plentiful. There was 40-50% capacity. Since the property handles a full crowd easily, when it was half full it felt very empty The food was still excellent. The restaurant options were adequate for the crowd we had on hand, yet we needed to be careful about reservations because not all restaurants were open as much as before. Top shelf liquor was absent, I suppose that they are tightening the belt during this COVID time. Due to USA travel return restrictions, the resort helpfully provided COVID test just before our day of check out. The staff was very diligent about wearing masks, taking temperature of customers at restaurant entrances, and there were many touchless hand sanitizer stations. The guests wore masks indoors when finding a seat at the restaurant. Since most dining and most bar areas are not inside a building, guests did not wear masks there or at the beaches. We had a couples massage at the spa, which means being perched in a cute little room up on a cliff over the crashing waves. HEAVEN. The main beach had about 5-10 people on it, max! Everyone was at the Au Naturel nude beach, and the crowd there was chill and delightful just like always. No volleyball net due to Jamaican ministry of health intervention. I really missed the volleyball! The White River entry into Sunset Beach bay was flowing extremely to the right very close to shore. Easy to cross on our way in for a swim. The resort buildings are looking like they need a little repair / painting especially on the exterior. I think that they are candidly trying to get on their feet again. The gentlemen that take care of the lawn and trees are so energetic each day keeping things pristine. The property is just beautiful. There was nightly live entertainment musicians / singers ... yet with the light occupancy the size of the audience was pretty small. The music for these events is loud, yet it does not last very long. The shows typically ended at 10 pm so easy to sleep. Almost every staff employee is a joy to deal with. I really value Jamaican hospitality. Small complaint (1) I wish they would not carry on "private conversations" with each other speaking in Patois. It excludes people when this happens. (2) The workers on break should not be seated in the nude beach lunch area, leaning against the fence looking at the customers. It makes us self conscious.

We stayed at the end of March and everything was just lovely. The occupancy was low . We felt like we had the resort all to ourselves...The room was wonderful , the food was yummy , service and drinks were top shelf . We thought that the entertainment was very good...I know that some people reviewed that the entertainment was quiet and did not get the guests revved up , but that was simply because there weren't enough people to get up and get partying ...I would highly recommend ...there is nothing that I could find to complain about ...all was great
