We stayed at TRS Yukatan for a friends vacation in November. The resort had only been open for a month by the time we arrived since being shutdown for coronavirus and they didn’t miss a beat. There was hand sanitizer conveniently placed, shoe wash stations at every entry as well as constant temperature checks. We never felt crowded or unsafe. In restaurants we often felt like we had the place to ourselves with the tables placed further apart and the resort being at lower capacity. I never saw an employee without their mask. The resort was incredible. We all had Junior Pool Suites which were perfect for entertaining as well as just relaxing. The butlers- Ramon, Reyna, and Mariana- at our suites were accommodating and always eggar to help when it came to making reservations for dinner, arranging transportation or anything else we needed. We even caught Reyna running to our rooms to help us one night when we needed help! Housekeeping was consistent as well, always in to tidy things up while we were away and to replenish the mini bar. The infinity pool was where we spent most of our time. Diana was the queen of the pool and never let our drinks be empty! She was incredible and so kind! Ariana was also a superstar! The bartender at the pool Marcos was so fun, always made the perfect shot when we weren’t specific and also kept our beverages full! Oscar was always around to make sure everything was perfect and so friendly to chat with- even disappeared as soon as he found out it was a friend’s birthday and instantly returned with a dessert for her! The infinity pool was beautiful and the resort was placed right on the ocean- you were always within a few steps of an incredible view. Dino helped the girls schedule a spa day where Elana, Claudia, and someone else amazing who’s name we can’t remember gave us one of the best massages of our lives. Even after our massages he still would come around to check on us and make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Benjamin instructed most of the activities at the pool and was so fun to have around! Spin class in the pool was entertaining and a great workout to break up a day of drinking and eating lunch at Helios. We also took a guacamole class, dance class and water aerobics class with him as well! It was great to not have to travel far for some added entertainment. Jorge at Helios, where we had breakfast and lunch almost everyday, was awesome. By the end of the week he had our orders memorized for us and ready to go. He would bring us new drinks, as well as shots, that we hadn’t tried and they never disappointed! The food there was great as well, we’re still talking about the coconut shrimp! All of the restaurants were great- the Italian and the French were our favorites for dinner. All in all, the service at TRS Yukatan was amazing, honestly not even comparable to the other resorts we’ve been to. Everyone was so nice which made our relaxing vacation away even better! Thank you! We will continue to recommend!

Amazing all inclusive with top shelf liquor and gourmet food. Extensive Covid safety protocols by staff and compliance by other guests. Wonderful infinity pool and salt water pool connected to the ocean so that there were actually fish in it. Great private beach adjacent. Resort was 1 of 3 but TRS is adults-only with exclusive restaurants. Best part was the incredibly friendly and helpful staff from the villa butlers to the restaurant and bar staff. Complimentary entertainment each night in the lobby. Not flawless, but damn close. Liked it so much I'm already booking a return for 2021.

    Can't wait to go back!!!!!

Let me start by saying that we have stayed at both the TRS Coral and Yucatan and love them both! Our room at Yucatan was amazing! We had a beautiful private pool first floor suite in building 68. The room was very modern but comfortable. We enjoyed having the separate living area as well. There were six of us traveling together so it was nice to be able to have everyone to our room to watch football together! A little tip is to ask your butler for a fan for your room. The private pool on the patio was a little chilly but that felt nice on those hottest days! Our room was on the end of the building and it was very private and felt secluded. There were also many iguanas, birds and agouti hanging out in the area which was fun! We definitely made use of the fantastic butler's services as well! Jessica was so helpful, as were the other butlers! They helped us get some of our clothes to the laundry service which was excellent also. We were impressed by how nicely our clothes came back and my husband even commented that they got a stain out of his shirt that had been there for a long time lol. The palladium as a whole is a very large resort, but don't worry, there are plenty of golf carts with friendly drivers who will take you wherever you want to go! Romeo and Alberto always kept us smiling! If you are staying in the TRS section, ask for a ride to the La Jara beach bar! It's a TRS only area with plenty of Bali beds and a private bar right on the beach! If you walk down to the beach, take a left (north) and walk past the resort next door and you will reach playa Kantenah, It is one of the best stretches of beach we've been to! Since capacity is still very low at resorts right now, not all of the restaurants and bars are open. However, the ones that are were excellent! Ivonne and Gretel were some of the best hostesses we've ever met! We spent time chatting with them before dinner and they remember your name and are so friendly! We ate many meals at the TRS only restaurant, Helios. It was our favorite for breakfast and lunch. All of the servers are so sweet and helpful! After a few days, they remembered what we liked and brought things out they knew we would enjoy. They even gave us a special dessert on our last day! The french restaurant was very good and has some fun, romantic private booths you can request! Reservations were not required but we made them with our butler each day anyway. We never had a problem with getting a table for the six of us. The italian restaurant was my next favorite and then La Lola which was a pleasant surprise! The tapas were better than i imagined they would be! All of the bartenders are also wonderful. David made a drink for me that I wouldn't expect to see unless at a high end restaurant in Chicago. We spend most every evening in the TRS lobby sipping delicious cocktails and watching the nightly entertainment. We were blown away with the live performances! They basically took the Chic cabaret show (which is not running right now due to Covid) outside in the open air lobby! Live singing and dancing of Vegas style and quality. We danced the night away more than once with the DJ as well :) The lobby of TRS is very modern and has a luxurious feel. Kevin at the front desk is very professional, friendly and helpful. It was nice seeing his face greeting us each day! The lobby bar also has a lovely espresso machine where I would get a latte each morning before taking a walk. The grounds are lovely all over the resort and they even have walking/running routes mapped out for you! Make sure you also check out the cenote on site! We did spend one afternoon at the Spa and it was glorious! I highly recommend you spend a little time pampering yourself there. We had a fantastic couples massage that ended with chocolate covered strawberries and champagne! We also went back another day to get smoothies from the healthy bar there and they were tasty! We spent a lot of time in the infinity pool which was a lot of fun. There was usually a lively and diverse group there and it was fun meeting people and even tossing a football around in a big group one afternoon. The entertainment staff at the pool is great as well! We enjoyed the cooking demonstrations by the bar there! All of the servers by the pool were great! The salt water pool is a unique feature that I've not seen at any other resort. You should definitely check it out! I recommend bringing water shoes for this as the bottom has a lot of rocks. When we return, we'll be bringing our snorkel gear since the salt water pool is full of amazing sealife! I also want to mention that a Cat1 hurricane came through and made direct landfall while we were there. The staff was amazingly professional during the entire process of transfering every single guest to safer buildings within the reosrt. They had everone moved well before the storm hit and even put us in three rooms next to each other. Each guest was given a bag with plenty of food and there were several bottles of water per person. We never felt unsafe or uncared for. They also put up the staff that evening as well so they didn't have to drive home. We knew there would be damage to the resort as we coudl hear the fierce winds through the night. The next morning as soon as the sun was up, they had cleanup crews out chainsawing, moving limbs and cleaning. It was incredible to see how quickly they got everything back up and running! We were so impressed by how well they took care of everyone. It made a lasting impression on us for sure. We ended up staying a few extra days and were able to keep our same room. On our last night they had rose petals on the bed and champagne in the living room! The resort and all it's high contact surfaces were constantly being sanitized. Every single staff member had a mask on at all times and there were plenty of hand sanitizing stations around. We felt safe and comfortable during these unprecidented times. Overall, this is one of my favorite resorts we've been to! Well worth the upgrade in price because you do get your money's worth here!

This is our 11th time to a Palladium Property—9 th to TRS Yucatán. Yes we are in a pandemic. Yes things are different. Yes they have sustained hurricane damage. Day 1 We were in and out of Cancun airport in less than 30 minutes. Our transport Trafictours driver got us to the resort in one hour. We had booked an Ambassador Suite. I am sad to say we did not stay in that suite. It was a disaster. The air conditioner was not cooling. The entire room smelled of mold. There was water pooling on the stairs that led to the roof. We met with our butler; and she said she would get someone to come look at the air conditioner. She said the room was too hot. She also took our order for smaller pillows and alcohol which we received on day three for pillows and day 2 for alcohol. She made us a reservation for LaBoheme. We went to check in (Travel Club) to let them know the room was in poor shape. They were also going to send someone to work on the unit. We had a drink at the TRS bar and went to dinner. The food was really not good. We had ordered room service earlier which was much better. My husband’s beef stew with carrots was a steak but the color was all wrong. We tipped and left. They tried to resolve our room issues to no avail. So, they moved us to a temporary second floor suite. The AC worked and there was no mold or water leaks. Yay! Day 2 I ordered coffee and milk at 7 am. It arrived within 30 minutes. We met with the TC representative, and made most of our dinner reservations. No Japanese. They were moving us to a bottom floor private pool suite after 3 p.m. as there are no Ambassador Suites available as most have been damaged in the hurricanes. That is what was going on with our original room. It’s a down grade so we have a refund coming. We took a walk around. Some bridges are down, trees are down and buildings have some damage. Everyone is working hard. Helios was open for breakfast until noon so we dined there. Eggs were good. They have egg white omelettes. Then we went to the infinity pool and hung until 3 p.m. when our room was supposed to be ready. That actually happened at 5:30 p.m. we ended up with a private pool suite—very nice but no bathtub or second toilet. Oh well. They did reduce our cost by a not so big $78. Dinner was El Darado, and we both had very good meals. Food was great: steaks, awesome spinach salad and a shared brownie with vanilla ice cream. Day 3 Nice day. We had coffee early in the room and ate a late breakfast outside at Helios. Then went to the travel club beach area where we hung out under a palapa bed and watched the clouds roll by. We went back to our room and ordered a late lunch through room service. Husband loves the hot wings. I got the beef burritos w awesome no onion guacamole. Then I lazed by our private pool and he chilled inside watching tv. Dinner was at Tentazione, and was wonderful. We both had beef dishes which were yummy. The spinach salad was AMAZING—goat cheese, strawberries and a basalmic vinegrette. Desserts were Tiramisu and cannoli. Both were yummy! Day 4 Pool day. Started with breakfast at Helios. Then visited the Infinity pool and then the smaller TRS pool. There was no one there so we hung for a while. Then back to our suite to hang by the pool there. We had two visitors besides the Yucatán Jays—a raccoon and a large male Coatimundi. We had rain showers before our dinner at Adelita which was good. We also had more visitors—a pack of 20 or so Coatimundi of all ages. Day 5 Started out great with breakfast at Helios. We went to the beach and snorkeled as it was a calm wind day. We hung at the TC area and then walked to Whitesands where we rode the boat. Then we headed back to our room for lunch. And we found someone had attempted to break into our safe. The keypad was hanging off the door. Thankfully, they did not get into the safe so our money, credit card and passports were still there. We alerted everyone. In the 11 times we have been to a Palladium/TRS property and the 17 times we have stayed in the area, we have experienced nothing like this. Makes me very sad. They replaced the safe door within the hour. They said they are investigating. Dinner was El Gaucho and was great. I got flank and he got ribeye. The flank was better as it was a leaner meat. The fresh salad was yummy as was the empanadas and cheese in a cast iron skillet. Also the mashed potatoes and creamed spinach were tasty as well. The flan was also good. We didn’t sleep that great due to the attempted safe break in . First night ever that I felt uneasy. We put our umbrella in the sliding glass door to stop anyone from entering. The doors are easily popped open even from the outside even though locked. My husband can do it in one second. So we will use the umbrella from now on. We believe this is how they got in. We don’t think it was hotel staff. Day 6 The hotel staff called to check on us. Breakfast was Helios. Good as always. We spent the morning at the infinity pool. Then headed to our room. We left very little in the safe instead carrying our stuff with us. We ordered lunch chicken fajitas are great. We had visitors again: little group of Coatimundi—only six this time. We also had Yucatán jays hanging around. And the raccoon came back as well. Dinner was Tentazoine again. Food was great. We ran into Luci at the TRS pool. It was great to see her back here. Day 7 This was our last full day. Finally did Helios for lunch. I had the sushi rolls. They were great. Steve had pasta and shrimp which was not on the menu but waiter had them make it for him. He said the shrimp was great. Dinner was Gaucho again snd great steaks. The empanadas were great there as well. We had visits from the Coatis and raccoon both on day 7. And on our last day the group of Coatis hung out in our pool area for a while in the am. Of course the Yucatán Jays were there in force. We hung by the pool some during the day. The waves were huge due to the hurricane that went in at Nicaragua. So no one was in the water at the beach. The weather in November is awesome—much cooler than our usual June visits. Thoughts: The staff are trying very hard. On the whole we had a nice time. We knew to expect rotating restaurants and damage due to the recent hurricanes and closure for six months. We were not prepared for the damage the Ambassador suite sustained they put us in at first. Hotel management should not be renting those rooms. We also felt there should have been more of a charge off our room than $78 since we stepped down quite a bit and there were no ambassador suites available that were not damaged or rented. The attempted safe break in was also a huge downer and left us uneasy the rest of the vacation. We understand this can occur anywhere. And staff was very quick to get our safe repaired. Management needs to address the easiness of breaking in to the sliding glass doors especially on the bottom floors. We should not be able to pop the lock from the outside in one flat second just by shoving the door. This is the 9th time we have stayed at this property and we have been 11 times total including CM Coral last year and Punta Cana in 2013. This is the third time we had AC issues at this and only this property. We love the Palladium and especially the people. We hope the above issues will be addressed and resolved.
