Fantastic holiday

Paaulc1 (Braintree, United Kingdom) on May 04, 2024

I have been on 4 holidays per year for the last 5 years. I must say this is the best I have ever experienced. From the check in to check out it has been perfect. The food was second to none and we ate in all the restaurants and each as good as each other. We will definitely be coming back to this resort.

Always A Great Vacation

Sightseer19889853540 on May 04, 2024

My wife and I joined the Palladium Travel Club in 2010, and have gone to the Palladium twice a year since then, except for one visit each to the Palladium in Jamaica and Punta Cana , and during COVID. We continue to go back year after year because the resort is gorgeous and immaculately clean, the staff is amazing, and the food is also delicious. We would like to especially thank the following Palladium staff members who made our visit in April so memorable: Joeal from the Travel Club, Bell Captain Alberto, Bellman Frank, Martha our breakfast server at Helios, Patricia the Hostess at Capriho, Saul our server at LaBoheme, and of course Ernesto and Adela at the Members Beach Club, and last but not least, our two Butlers George and Bernardo. Each of these staff member always go over and above to make us feel welcome and we look forward to seeing them again in October.

Once again we were pampered and treated like royalty at the Palladium TRS in Riveria Maya!

A shout out to some people who always go above and beyond their jobs! Thanks Martha for making breakfast a real treat each morning! You were always smiling and eager to be of service. Its always great to be greeted by Alberto to “welcome home family” each time we return. People such as this is what keeps us coming back!

Not recommended and not five star

My husband and I have just returned back from 10 nights at the TRS Yucatan. This was our second time to Mexico but the first time at this hotel. Check in was nice and easy, whilst asked about upgrading we said no and this was accepted without any additional haggling which was good. We stayed in a Junior Suite with a garden view. The rooms are big and modern but a few things let it down. On the day we arrived there was a Coke can at the bottom of our garden - next to our pool (I would have expected it to be removed by the cleaning team before our arrival) but it remained there the whole stay - something minor but a simple cleaning of the pool area clearly hadn’t been done at any point. Shortly into our stay my husband started to get a cough and we do believe it was likely linked to the aircon. (After reading previous trip advisor comments some people do mention a smell of damp and we definitely had this). We noticed rooms on the floors above ground regularly had their patio doors open, we did this whenever we were back in our room so to avoid the aircon recirculating the same moist air but this couldn’t be done when we were out due to being on the ground floor. Due to the room set up the shower is in the same room as the rest of the bedroom so everything quickly becomes damp - including the pillows. Food - overall the food was ok, although on some occasions just warm rather than hot. In the second to last day I got food poisoning and whilst we can’t confirm where - it was shortly after eating lunch at the buffet (meat paella). What let the food down overall was the lack of service. On our first day we decided to try breakfast at Helios. We sat outside, it took over 10 minutes for our coffees to arrive, we had no cutlery and a further 10 minutes of waiting before we asked if we could order food. Due to this bad experience we then tried Capricho where on multiple occasions we were sat waiting for coffee orders over 10 minutes and on some occasions not even asked for a food order. This meant we sometimes ordered room service which surprising took less time and was often better. The one highlight were our butlers Bernardo and George. Nothing was too much trouble and everything we asked of them was done in super quick time. We can’t thank them enough. Pool area: we spent most of our days at the infinity pool which was inviting. We aimed to get a sunbed after breakfast - normally about 9.30am. Many sunbeds were already reserved with towels but we always managed to get them. Worth noting it was particularly windy when we were there which meant the umbrellas / parasols could not go up. Meaning many of the free cabanas got taken quickly. If you are fair skinned like us it’s worth being aware of this as there isn’t really any other shade or places to hide from the sun all day. Gym: the room is large with plenty of machinery and weights. We went on three occasions and it was never busy. Overall we had decent hot weather, but due to a number of reasons such as service and the room aircon issues we wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It’s worth noting we have travelled to many places around the world so this review is fair based on other 5 star places we have stayed in across the Caribbean, Maldives, Mauritius and Egypt.

Great stay in April 2024

julieh0ckey (Gatineau, Canada) on May 03, 2024

We were at TRS for 14 days, and we had great time. Our butlers Israel and Alexi were amazing. Food was really good, except at El Gaucho, that was really disappointing. Room was clean but really humid , we asked for a déshumidifier, but really small and not really useful. We can’t wait to go again.
