Lobby was very hot. Would be great if it were air conditioned or at least some fans would help. Too may mosquitoes. Pool needs work. Tiles missing and moldy. Would return for the food!! Delicious! Staff not friendly. No smiles in lobby, halls or from ground maintenance.

Buenaventura Management: you need to seriously reassess your priorities, because its not on being welcoming or helpful. TL;DNR - PV is amazingly beautiful, great location, hotel staff are wonderful, rooms are "meh", pool areas are good, food is great BUT "CON"cierge staff/ time share sales people can F right off Pros: - Location is perfect for exploring. easy to get to Malecon. easy to catch a bus to explore other locations or the malls if you need a break. - wandering the Malecon at night (wayyyy to hot during the day) is amazing. dinner options are numerous and you cant really go wrong. - Pools are warm. Adults only area has great views and is the most relaxing spot - VIEWS! - Service staff in restaurants, cleaning staff are incredible and friendly. The staff at the pool and the activity centre/towel place work so very hard under brutal heat! Get to know Eduardo he is the absolute best! -Very clean hotel all around - Food in all restaurants was very good, better than other all inclusives we've been to. - Ocean water temperature is amazing, cant get enough of it. Bring water shoes/socks as it is rocky though. -SKY Bar is a great option to have access to if you have a "grey or black wristband". Cons: - "CON"cierge staff are not there to help you like a regular hotel or restort. They are sales people/ CON ARTISTS only there to up sell you into the "membership"/Time share program. They will say its not a time share but its the same sales pitch. TELL THEM NO RIGHT AWAY, DO NOT TAKE ANY OFFER OF DISCOUNT EXCURSIONS OR FREE BOOZE. GRAB YOUR ROOM KEY AND RUN. We Wasted so much time with these people as they pass you up their sales stream from person to person until you find yourselves wasting 2 hours constantly telling "the bosses" that you will not commit to a $28,000 US membership. Every time you ask a question or want a recommendation, its always "come have a seat let me ask you a question. If you hear "let me ask you a question" - stand up and walk away! Its a horrible way to start your vacation and almost ruined our entire stay. - Dont bother upgrading to the Honeymoon Suite, its not worth the money. Although the view is nice AVOID 3rd floor SUITE 1316. Telephone line doesn't work (which doesn't sound like a big deal until you want to contact front desk)- we were told they need to open up the walls to fix. You face a dance club thats open until 2 am and it gets LOUD. The jacuzzi tub with a view only has cold water. We just came back and the full sun and heat (while wonderful) was way to hot to enjoy sitting on the balcony anyway so we could have skipped the ocean view balcony and saved some $. Again, with the dance club right in front of you and all the traffic, people noise at nigh, you cant really enjoy the balcony at night either. - Small sand beach area with lots of rocks. - Constantly bothered by the beach sellers of trips, jewlery, blankets, hats, braids etc. its the worst ive experienced in 4 trips to Mexico. Eventually you just get used to saying no gracias. Other: - Not complaining about this at all but warning, September heat is NO JOKE. We were worried about the constant rain forcast but in 10 days we got about 10 min of rain, twice. Otherwise it was beautiful full sun and blue sky but lots of humidity that continues all night. Get used to be sweaty. we were thankful for our AC room, and to have access to pools and the ocean.

Excellent experience to stay in that hotel, the vibe that the personal of the hotel provides is unique... I recommend the hotel due to the treatment that they provide to the clients, very good service, food is amazing.

Just returned from Buenaventura Grand Hotel right on the beach! The hotel is dated but it is kept very clean. I went for the standard room with 2 double beds because it was the cheapest at $120 per night including all you can eat and drink! I listened to their timeshare presentation to get two free tickets for Marietas Islands, snorkeling, birdwatching, and beautiful beach with free stand up paddle boards and kayaks. I loved the banana boat. But to get all that you have to listen to their timeshare or room presales, which wasn't too pushy and I timed it at exactly 90 minutes. If you don't want to sacrifice 1 minute of your vacay, you can buy the tickets at $80 per person to go on a catamaran to Marietas and the beach I described. The beach outfront of the hotel is perfectly nice, swim and play around in it, pretty tame when we were there. Be sure to use UBER when you are there, much cheaper than a taxi. When you come out of the airport do not get sucked into the timeshare sharks on your immediate right. (We thought it was the taxi stand) and got sucked in. We ended up getting a free swimming with the dolphins for that presentation we went to. Cost is about $80 per person if you don't listen to the timeshare presentation. I had a great time at the hotel. We traveled out to the Zoo using UBER and I got to hold baby (3 months) tigers, cougar and lion. That is an $85 donation to the zoo if you want to add on that experience, otherwise just $12 to get in. Great Tequila Tasting by the Zoo and Tony's Restaurant there in Mismaloya is great. Everything in the room worked fine, comfy beds, chair and table, flat screen TV. Ask the maid for extra wash cloths and she will get you some. Practice up on your Spanish and have a great time like we did! The Latinomopolitan Martini is wonderful.

We did not have a good experience while staying here! We kept getting locked out of our room, it would happen up to 4 times per day! When we went down to the front desk to inform them what was going on they would give us a new room key and it wouldn't work either! They did this several times and our room was on the 5th floor so up and down the stairs all day was the majority of the time we spent at the hotel!!! When we finally started losing our cool (because we had been waiting to get into our room for an hour, standing in the lobby sunburned after an 8 hour sailing tour) the front desk worker literally laughed at us and said "sorry you'll just have to miss your reservation again tonight" wtf!? Worst service I've ever experienced!!! Not to mention the manager that runs the resort seems to be high on coke and very unprofessional!
