Amazing Experience

Such a fantastic experience! Our butler, Antonio, was amazing! The food was great! The resort is easy to get to and easy to navigate. The entire place was clean. The beach was kept clean too. The service was on point. No complaints whatsoever.

The Happy Place!

We returned from a week at IGP. Wow! This place is a true paradise. Everything is well thought-out, nothing is left to chance, and the attention to detail is remarkable. There’s an aura of happiness and a cheerful vibe filling the resort. The pros: 1. This is a very well-managed resort. Everything is superb, the grounds are immaculate. and the level of cleanliness is unparalleled 2. Staff are the true gems of this place. They are very well- trained, hardworking, courteous, attentive to the needs of the guests, and do their jobs with a great sense of pride and professionalism Staff super stars: 1. Diamond star goes to our amazing butler Mauro! The best of the best! He took care of every little detail, really took care of us, and spared no effort to make our stay most enjoyable. He’s extremely pleasant, courteous, professional, and dedicated 2. Gold star goes to: Carlos, Jesus, and Enderson at Bella Vista. They were superb. The Star Prestige beach service team Manuel and Saulo were awesome, very helpful and fast service! Hostesses Yazmin, Veronica with their efficiency and welcoming smiles. We were very impressed with Leticia and Endrick at L’Atelier restaurant, 5-star service! Violeta at the reception desk was extremely helpful, and Nubia from the Public Relations office who made a point of coming to the restaurant on our first night to introduce herself and welcome us. Restaurants: 1. Bella Vista: awesome food and service. The variety at breakfast and lunch buffets is unparalleled. 2. L’Atelier restaurant: great food and superb service. Opportunities for improvement 1. Food at the Italian restaurant was underwhelming, and menu selection at Toni’s was limited though food was good. 2. Check-in at the Star Prestige office was slow and somewhat painful after a long day of travel. Staff seemed overwhelmed. All in all, we had a very memorable and remarkable vacation and look forward to returning soon. We love IGP!

Truly "Grand"

We visited The Grand April 14-24. It was truly an amazing vacation. We had an ocean front suite with butler service. The surroundings, food, drinks, service, entertainment, amenities and ambiance were beyond anything we could have imagined. Shout out to butlers Carolina, Angel and Reuben. To bartender Luis whose fresh fruit creations and mixology classes were fabulous. To the entertainment crew especially Luis, Vidi, Xyenda, Alma, Carlos, Christopher and Adrian. To the spa staff Claudia, Dulce, Christina and ?Meril (can't say I have this name correct). To sommelier Uber. To bartender Lorenzo and to the countless bartenders and servers who were all the best. It is almost impossible to single out any one person as they were all truly 10/10. We dined on Tenderloin, lobster, tuna, lamb, fresh fruit, delicious vegetables and I could go on. The house wine selections were so good we never once felt the need to order a specialty wine. We will definitely be back.

Excellent holiday great hotel

Visited the resort from 14 th April x 11 nights. It has been 7 years since our last visit. We stayed in a Villa for the 11 nights. Flew BA from Gatwick and booked the package with BA holidays. This was much cheaper than booking with TUI. We just had to arrange our own transfer which was easy and the guy was waiting for us on arrival. We are from Manchester so we booked a B and B in Crawley and left our car there even paying for this the holiday was still cheaper than flying from Manchester. We also stayed at the b and B on our return to Gatwick then drive home the next day. Windfalls hotel Crawley such a lovely small hotel family run. Cancun airport was efficient from getting off the plane to get to to our transport took around 45 mins. Cases came through really quickly. Greeted on arrival at the grand by a welcoming bell boy with damp cold flannels, and was asked to take a seat in reception. Check in was quick but it repeated the process of checking in on line. Waitress brought us a welcome drink, all great service. Taken to our villa on a golf buggy, introduction to the villa very informative. Villa was very clean, mini bar full with beer and soft drinks. Butter visited and asked if there was anything we needed. We asked for a bottle of Gin and Jack Daniel’s. JD not available for rooms so Jim Bean was brought. I also asked for a kettle as I like a cup of tea. It took 2 days but I did get one. Each villa has their own bikes with locks to use in the grounds. A negative of the villa is that the noise from the main pool carries to the villas so if you go back to the villa in an afternoon don’t expect it to be quiet. Cleaning service was excellent with turn down service each evening. Each villa has a butler and they communicate daily via WhatsApp. If you require anything just message them. Response is quick and effective. Even if you require a ride you can book that in the app. Smacks available in each room with a coffee machine and Coffe pods. Bottles of filtered water are left in the room just use the app if you require any more. Toiletries are full bottles and plentiful. I did feel the bath needed replacing the jacuzzi part of the bath did not work. I understand the villas are being revamped in August so maybe the baths will be replaced. We were able to book 2 restaurants prior to our arrival via email which was excellent pbut down load the app and you can book restaurants once you check in. The app is also good for requesting anything from reception or guest services. The app gives great info on daily activities and all the menus are available to read. Service overall was really good. Celia in the breakfast buffet was very efficient and friendly. After 6 years there did not appear to be many staff there we recognised apart from Daniel, Mirna and Celia. The only poor service we experienced was at the beach restaurant. We visited twice and service was slow and very disorganised, with a limited menu. We found all the star friends very friendly and personable. Also Cynthia the fitness lady was excellent doing water aerobics every day and paddle board Yoga she was very sincere and engaging with guests. There was seaweed on the beach daily but the hotel did its best in cleaning it up. The sea was rough most days so be careful. We visited all the restaurants at the grand and service was excellent as well as the food. Armando in the atelier restaurant was very attentive. I ate in atelier for my birthday and there was petals on the table and staff sang happy birthday to me ( very thoughtful). We also went to the steak house at the maya however our butler told us we did not need reservations but when we got there, reservations were needed. However they found us a table but service was slow and not the best. We had lunch at the Maya buffet one day and the food and service was excellent. We visited the water park at the Maya which looked great fun. Mirna was a shinning star once again around the pool. She remade our subbed when we went for lunch and ensured we had plenty of towels. Outstanding service. Service around the pool for drinks was good and frequent. you can scan the app on your sunbed to order drinks but the app needs amending as it offers basic drinks for example wine but it does not offer a choice. Swim up was great service with top shelf drinks. The newly refurbished swim up bar is much better the counter is now made of plastic and looks more appealing. All staff behind the bar were friendly and efficient. Sun beds were easily available around both pools and on the beach. The cushions on the sun beds were all replaced with new ones on our last day. Louis waiter visits each pool daily offering excellent cocktails made freshly with lots of fresh fruit the mango one was my favourite. He has his own drinks cart and he wears a Caribbean shirt you can’t miss him. I used the indoor pool early morning you can swim from 8 am it was so nice with the roof open. There is a steam room and sauna in the changing room as well. There are new sofas just outside the indoor pool they are lovely and so comfy. Lots of bottle water available (filtered water put into bottles) available at the indoor pool, and ocean front receptions. The show in the rhapsody bar on a Friday is not worth paying for, I cannot comment on the other paid show as we did not see it. I really missed the regular shows in the theatre it’s such a shame they no longer use this venue for the nightly shows, I would like to know the reason for this. There is a singer most evenings in the lobby bar or some form of entertainment. Waitresses are all very efficient in the lobby bar keeping drinks flowing. Daniel and his team behind the bar were all friendly and receptive the guests needs. In my previous visits the waitress use to pour your drink from the bottle in front of you in the lobby bar, this is no longer the case which is a shame as it made the service stand out. The nightly shows are mainly around the pool but seating is not very sociable and there is no where to put your drinks. I also don’t like drinking out of plastic cups at night sat on uncomfortable seats. The best show was a live band on the beach one night. I also missed the star band, with Mr Charles and the rest of the singers. I understand they are no longer employed by Iberostar which is a disappointment. I found all the food to be of a high standard. Lots of steak, and seafood. Ask for a steak to be cooked from fresh if like me you like steak medium rare. Lobster was on offer at the buffet and in the restaurants. The gardeners worked really hard all grounds were immaculate. Lots of wild life around. We visited all 5 hotels and it’s really nice for a walk or a golf buggy will take you. The Coffe shop at the Maya and Linda are both excellent with amazing cakes and biscuits. Open from 7am daily. There is also a Coffe shop at the shopping mall equally as good. I did find changes from my previous visits some small but significant for example No table cloths on the tables at breakfast Theatre not being used for nightly shows Miniatures not in fridge in rooms I also missed the lunch time buffet at the beach restaurant I found the main pool very noisy at times especially late afternoon Some guests do not appear to ‘ dress up’ in the evening as they use to and I found some guest dress code in the evening very underdressed for a 5 star resort. Just my personal opinion. The difference I feel for this hotel is the people, the staff, and how they make you feel. They make you feel special which makes a difference. If you have any issues while at the resort please contact guest relations they will help you effectively and efficiently. They want you to have the best time on your holiday so don’t let anything spoil it. Nothing was to much trouble. We visited circus soleil for the meal and show which was excellent just took a taxi from the hotel and booked it on line. Riviera Maya, Mexico The Cirque du Soleil Theater Show & Dinner Experience 5 mins in taxi from the grand. Overall an excellent holiday in a great hotel. I would highly recommend this resort. alcohol is all top notch for an all-inclusive and in abundance. Food is first class and if there is something you want to eat but not on offer just ask and someone will cook it for you. I just wish this resort was not 10.5 hours away on a plane.
