I came here back in April of 2019 with a few of the girls. Since we all booked at different times I got stuck with Coba and they were able to get Akumal. No big deal! Since their rooms were huge I just bunked with them and left my room in Coba unattended; however in order to be able to access the adults only pool & luxury booze I needed to upgrade my wrist band; not an issue except they charged me for an extra day because my last day even though I was leaving at 9am still counted somehow. Check in was painfully long and check out was challenging to say the least; again since I was staying with my friends in Akumal but because I wasn’t registered in Akumal I had to be-line to Coba in order to checkout; I had attempted to check-out the night before so that way I didn’t need to rush around in the morning but apparently they close their systems down and aren’t able to do anything. Ok whatever, besides the headache of going back and forth the worst part was the trams didn’t run that early in the morning and if you don’t know this isn’t just any resort this is a mega resort with 4 or 5 resorts rolled into one so the distance between them is long. Thankfully some sweet worker took pity on me and stopped and offered me & my luggage a ride to Coba while walking down the creepy road lol. Besides my issues everything was pretty good. Again this place is absolutely massive and they have a lot of trams going and the tram drivers are a blast; after our night at the Mexican restaurant and drinking a few to many Margaritas we ended up partying on the tram; buddy was all for it and even pumped the music for us; I think we drove by the disco 4 times before we finally got off and went in. They definitely go above and beyond to make your stay a good one. Just wish the front desk could of done a little more when it came time to check out when I told them I was no longer using my room and upgrading my wrist band; so I could of avoided all that mess on my last day.

We have travelled to this hotel previously and had a decent experience so we decided to try it out again this pastFebruary. This trip however wasn’t too good. The main issue of many others was that on the day we left the resort, we left out cell phone at the main desk lobby. When we realized this, we called the resort while at the airport. The resort told us they had our phone and it was safe until we made arrangements to have it shipped to our home as we did not have time to go back to the resort. When we got home (Canada) we contacted the resort again to make the arrangements to have the phone shipped to us. Over the next few months, we have had several different people reaching out to our email address saying they got our phone. I have tried numerous times to reach the resort for them to help us out but suddenly they cannot locate our phone. We had trusted that this resort would help us out but as of today, the last email was basically “sorry for your loss” This is the service you will get from this resort. I’d be more than happy to provide any further information if anyone would like to know more Thank you Daris

Went for a week and really loved the whole complex,it’s big but lots of restaurants to try. You have to book but that’s fine. Loved the beach,no seaweed when we were there. Staff were lovely. Down side was transfer, about 2hours.a long time but worth it,can’t wait to return when things are a bit more normal.

If you are not an American middle class don't go there. Everything is ok but that's all. It's a big complex with a lot of room for different size of wallet. I don't understand why people go there, it's useless. Nothing is interesting. The only good point is the alcohol and the food which are free and in quantity (not quality). Even the tennis court or the football pitch are ok but not nice. Everything is average, really nothing more. If you have a choice, don't go there. Last point, you American guys who eat and drink as it's your last day on earth please calm down, life is not a food competition.

We have been to Bahia Principe resorts a number of times now and have stayed at Coba more than once. The room was clean and sparkly on arrival and it was cleaned daily. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The food in the restaurants and buffet was delicious. They have the cutest little animals called coatis. We are already planning trip 15! Thank you LBP Akumal for another wonderful week!!
