I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont Hotel, in particular I loved the location on Georgia Street. Previously in Vancouver we'd stayed at an AirBNB near Commercial Drive, Vancouver, quite a distance from the city but being right in the city was so much better. We were close to great restaurants, easy walking distance to the Harbour and Canada Place, the ferry terminal to North Vancouver, Gastown, shopping at Robson Street and the business district where my husband needed be, just awesome. All the staff we dealt with during our stay were lovely and very helpful. In particular the lady who did our housekeeping "Marina" was polite, efficient and just so nice (I saw her daily as I worked from our hotel room in the mornings before being out and about in the afternoons). Our room was extremely pleasant and well equipped with its own safe for our passports, iron and ironing board, robes, TV, desk and chair, armchair and ottoman, coffee and tea making facilities and great water pressure in the shower. We ate our breakfast in the hotel restaurant each morning and the bircher muesli I ate, each day, was beautifully presented and delicious. If you want particularly good coffee and cakes, right around the corner from the hotel opposite Vancouver Art Gallery is a lovely French cafe called "Faubourg". Probably my most favorite part of the Fairmont Hotel, were the two hotel dogs that are in the reception each day, lovely when you are away from your own dogs. And finally, I really appreciated the thoughtful little touches in our room such as the umbrella in the closet and that the complimentary toiletries were good quality, cruelty free and Canadian made. Excellent hotel!!

A grand old lady in an excellwnt location, that was not served well by the size of the room (as in super small) - we expected more at the rate we paid. Also, found valet parking to be beyond exorbitant. At least you could walk everywhere.

Great stay, helpful staff but restaurant service slow

This hotel wasn't our original choice but the one we were supposed to be staying in had industrial action taking place. We upgraded our room when we arrived as wanted a bit of luxury after 2 weeks in the Yukon. Given fabulous room on 14th floor which was one of their "gold" rooms and included access to the lounge on 9th floor. The next morning we went down to the 9th for breakfast and were asked by the wonderful Darren if we would change our room as they needed it for a convention. We were offered a suite on 9th floor instead. We accepted the change. The suite was good as it had a sitting area but think the room on 14th was better especially the huge bathroom. Service was excellent on the 9th floor and the concierge service first class. They arranged a city tour for us as my husband was struggling to get around with a painful back. The lounge area provide a good choice of breakfast dishes and tea/coffee all day with hors hors d'oeuvres late afternoon. We had drinks in the bar in the evening on both nights we stayed and the lady who served us was brilliant and service excellent. This is a busy bar and she even remembered what we drank when we went in the second night. We did not have quite so good an experience in the restaurant though. It is a large room and not really conducive for a quiet meal as the noise from other diners was loud. The service was also slow, we waited 20 minutes for drinks. We ordered a dozen oysters as a starter and 11 were full size and perfect and one tiny and in broken shell. Pointed it out to waiter who in fairness replaced it but it should not have been served up to start with. The main course was good and the desert was heaven (loads of chocolate). It just lacked the ambience we were looking for on our last night in Canada. I would recommend this hotel. It's steeped in history and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

I stayed here for a conference. The staff were very helpful and made my stay a great one. Dining in is a bit on the pricey side but there nearby food trucks and 24 hr restaurants within close proximity. Great gym and sauna. The room attendants was just the sweetest as well. Loved it.

We didn't stay here during our stay in Vancouver but we visited just to see how the rich and famous live. This is a magnificent hotel from the stunn facade facing the public art gallery to the passage with high class designer shops.
