Thank you Majestic Elegance! My wife and I travel 3 times a year but always do Cancun or Riviera Maya once a year. We have stayed at many resorts and let me tell you this place is amazing yes it’s new so yes they are working things out just like everything new. We had and amazing time we were treated like Royalty from the moment we arrived to the day we had to say goodbye. Our room was beautiful the view was amazing. Food was delicious everything you wanted they had yes there were a lot of people saying they didn’t like the food I don’t understand what they were looking for they had everything from a simple hotdog to delicious steak at the buffet. Everything made to order drinks top shelf that was a 1 for us we like a nice top shelf liquor. The ala carta restaurants were amazing we ate at all of them from the Mexican to the French they are out of this world.the staff worked so hard to please us from the entertainment team to all the server’s the bartenders the house keeping and can’t forget the management. Thank you too all I hope I don’t forget someone- Ernesto,Paloma,Danny,Ronaldo, the 3 sammys, the 2 Pedros , Govanni,Carlos,Alan,Dulce, Stephanie, I know we are forgetting some other names but thank you to all of you for making our trip amazing!!! A word of advice please tip !!!! Semos un equipo

My wife and I were just settling in to the hotel, we have tried the food which was good, the service(besides checkin into the Elegance Club) has been fantastic, the staff has been very helpful. However on our third night somebody entered our room while we were on the balcony and stole all our cash. Upon calling security another guest two suites over reported some came into his room and stole his money as well. I’m writing this early because people need to be cautious, I don’t know the outcome, specifically if our money will be returned however it’s alarming. We were told “an investigation is underway,” however in the meantime we have no cash nor does the gentleman a few units away. Security came and searched our room which we felt was a violation of our privacy. Just imagine being on a romantic vacation with your wife, in an adults only section of the hotel only to have your private belongings search, paperwork read and even underwear searched. I write and a printed travel column so the follow up will be in print. Furthermore, I will will amend any changes predicated on the outcome of “the investigation.”

First and foremost, we booked a regular room on the family side but later upgraded to a plunge pool room on the adult "Club" side. The upgrade was worth every penny; especially because there are no plunge pool rooms on the family side. Room: Our plunge pool room had a beautiful view of the ocean and was also facing the main pools. The only set back is that Mexican winter is windy so the water in our plunge pool was pretty cold but we drank tequila and got into it any way. Once in, our bodies usually adjusted to the temperature. Our bed and pillows were supper comfy. I used the bathtub only a few times but the shower was great.we dont use air conditioning but we enjoyed opening the balcony door with the fan on. club lounges: check-in office (in lobby) has snacks and self-serve bottles of alcohol, including tequila and champagne. they also have water and soft drinks in the mini fridges. beachfront lounge has sushi, desserts, wraps etc. they also have fresh juices, water and other little snacks. Good spot to grab and go for nibblers. Butlers: We had 2 butlers, Pilar and Miriam. We rarely saw Miriam but Pilar was a constant figure throughout our vacation. She booked us dinner reservations, answered our questions and was all around very helpful. goodies: we received a bottle of champagne, a bottle of tequila, 2 hats and a beach bag for our stay Food: its hard to compare the buffet to other all-inclusive resorts because they did not have the usual mounds of food laid out across tables with heating lamps. The buffet has about 10 chefs ready to prepare any dish they had on display in front of them. Because the resort was not too full, wait time was decent but I worry that a busy resort will lead to longer wait times. In any case, i can't complain about my food being made fresh and to my liking. Although some food was self-serve, i found those options to be cold and opted for a fresh meals from a chef. As for the a la cartes, they were all good. Teppanyaki was consistently good and well seasoned. Mar house lobster is tender and juicy. lobster at the French BIstro is all about flavour and presentation. I was surprised that the steakhouse does not serve lobster but their steak and wagyu burger were good. they also serve you an onion blossom as a starter - so good. italian was a bit of a hit and miss. the gnocchi was not soft enough and the steak was a bit chewy. Mexican serves a seafood dish in a lava rock bowl. Soo good. my husband tried the fried grasshoppers and swears they were good. Overall food was pretty good. rooms service: food comes hot/warm and arrives about 40 minutes after your order is placed. salmon, buffalo wings, pizza, cheeseburger, curry chicken samosas and seafood tagliatelle were our favorites. the beach: we took great pictures with the waves but the water was too cold for us to swim in. multiple cabanas are available and so is drink service. entertainment: i am super relaxed on vacations but my husband is the opposite. he was in the foam party, doing yoga on a paddle board in the pool, swishing around in little boats, trying out bubble soccer, playing volleyball, watching night shows, and drinking in the lobby and/or sports bars. he did it all. spa: hydrotherapy at the spa is complimentary. we went twice and got a complimentary neck rub on the first visit. There are 3 pool areas. 2 with waterfalls and one with jacuzzis. Very nice and well designed. Very relaxing alcohol: our mini fridge was always stocked and bartenders are pretty well versed in drinks. most of my drinks were perfect pools: the main pool has 2 levels and was the spot for most activities. the adult pool in the club section was very calm and peaceful - a nice getaway from all the action. the pools attached to swim up rooms were beautiful to look at but it kind of felt like we were intruding on the swim-up rooms. we did not spend much time in them. We loved the main pool (the infinity pool at the top) and the adults only club pool. all pools are gorgeous!!

This is a brand new hotel and I was a little worried about some of the reviews about the hotel not being ready or things being unfinished, but we are currently half way through our weeklong vacation and it’s fantastic. The hotel and amenities are beautiful. Very modern, clean decor similar to those in boutique hotels, the rooms are gorgeous (we are in a 1br swim out suite, which has a plunge pool and jacuzzi, with walk out access to one of the large pools). Best of all is the unbelievable kids club. Usually when we travel our kids (8 and 5 years) refuse to spend time at the kids club but the LOVE the kids club here!!!! The two women, Andy & Abby) are ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!! Our kids never want to leave the kids club, so my husband and I are actually getting some alone time without feeling guilty about leaving our kids. We would definitely come back, especially given how great the kids club! Thanks to Andy and Abby for really going above and beyond to make sure our kids have a blast!

We had a wonderful week at this resort. Our Butler JD (Jose) was very professional and a great deal of help during our stay. It is individuals like JD that made the stay comfortable. We felt the same with most of the staff that we encountered all of whom did their little bit to make things special. My only disappointment was with the service in the main lobby bar - ground floor. These guys were no very attentive to all the patrons. They got stuck with a few of the regulars and mostly ignored folks that did not demand attention. We choose to seat away from the circular bar and were very well treated by the waitresses that served that area. I forget their names but both females working there over the week were great. Loved the stay. The place is new, shiny & clean.
