We stayed at the Halcyon Beach to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. The gardens are beautiful and we enjoyed the quiet pool although there is music and entertainment at the other pool. Every day we were able to swim in the crystal lagoon and it was not too busy and wonderful. Food in the restaurants was good and often we sat at the Beach Bistro by the sea for lunch. Plus, we tried Kelly’s, Bayside and Marios (Italian). Other nights, we used the shuttle service to La Toc (Italian restaurant does not require bookings and the food was very good) and the Grande and this worked well. The first shuttle of the day to the Grande at 12.15 was busy but staff sorted this and in the end taxis were used. Staff at the Halcyon Beach were friendly and our service was excellent – the same could not be said for the service at the Grande. The island is beautiful and we did the rain forest trail with Sandals (Pam was an excellent guide). Our one negative was our romantic dinner for two. The actual dinner and service were excellent. The disappointment was that Sandals did not inform us at any time that the meal had been prepaid by our sons as a gift! In fact, we thought it was provided free. This resort is not for anyone wanting nightlife although you can go to La Toc or the Grande and they have lively piano bars and evening entertainment. I can understand why people return for a relaxing holiday.

    Honeymoon in St. Lucia

A beautiful location and a wonderful break from reality during the week that all the coronavirus cancellations occurred back in the U.S. It was a romantic setting for our honeymoon and it lived up to expectations. The island is beautiful and the people are warm and welcoming. Just two negatives: 1) Our romantic dinner for two on the beach was ruined when my wife's steak was way under-cooked and it took a half hour for her to get another (by that point she didn't want it). We got an apology and some free desserts (which we could have gotten anyway), but that was it. 2) They ask you to have your bags outside your room a half hour before checkout, which we did, but they were never picked up and I had to grab them myself before our shuttle. First world problems for sure, but for a place that stresses service, it was disappointing. A few more breakfast/lunch options other than buffets would be nice, but all in the all, the food and drinks were very good. We'll definitely return to a Sandals, probably trying a new island next time.

    Very small, retreat-like and serene

Small but quaint. Secluded, very quiet, very private. Pretty grounds, older decor. Nice calm beach but small. Not much going on but relaxing. 20 minutes on shuttle from La Toc. 2 hour shuttle intervals.

Do not come here if you are looking for night life. After 7pm the majority of people are back in their rooms. A lot of older Perot stay here. If you are a younger couple like us, I do not recommend staying here. You are better off at La Toc or The Grande. The service was poor and the staff acted inconvenienced by their clients. We did not feel welcomed or pampered. The food was not very good. We did enjoy hibachi and Kelly’s which is on the beach. You do need to make reservations for these restaurants. The grounds are pretty and well kept. We spoke with the manager and she was defensive as to why the service was so poor. Not a good impression of customer service.

Had a great 11 day stay with my wife just before the lockdown. A few mysterious reviews on here had got me a bit worried howver it was for sure a 4 star plus stay. All the staff from gardners , cleaners, bar tenders and were cheery and helpful. Food was varied and of high quality. We had a Club level garden view room (which actually had sea views) and it was probably the best resort room we have stayed in ( and there have been quite a few to compare) . Room was kept stocked with drinks and there is really nothing to say other than this place is truly superb. If there werent so many other countries to visit i would return here and to this Sandals resort in heartbeat . Loved the resort and the Island and its people
