A really great stay

This property is a typical Fairmont legacy hotel. Elegant and service forward. We stayed on the Gold Floor, worth all of the additional cost. One negative; the room was a bit small and the bathroom tiny. The staff was outstanding and assisted us with some left behind items in a most exceptional manner. The hotel is in a great location and is a great stay.

We stayed for 6 nights and when we first got to our room it was so hot..about 27'c.. we had to go for a meeting, so we called down for maintenance to fix air conditioning, as we couldn't get anything to work. We came back 4 hours later, it was hotter about 30'C. Had to call down 4 times over 2 hours and finally maintenance showed up to tell us the hotel doesnt have any air conditioning till end of mat.. only heat..we were offered a fan or a wall unit air conditioner..wow $ 400 a night.. tried to talk to manager over the 6 nights and zero contact..they don't care about anything or anyone..not worth the money..zero service and huge price tag

DO NOT STAY HERE. The hotel has no air conditioning and your room will be 80 degrees F and you will be sweating trying to put on your business suit. It doesn’t matter if you come in winter or summer it’s going to be hot AF in the room due to poor cooling and too much heating. The staff don’t care that the rooms are uncomfortable. They advised me to open the window (it only opens one foot wide) and they sent a fan. Which was half broken and just blew the 80 degree air around. This hotel needs a complete renovation and solutions for its HVAC problem. The rooms are also very dated. Saggy mattress. Tiny bathrooms with seemingly 60 year old tubs. Horrible stay I couldn’t wait to leave.

I stayed here during a conference. I got the corner room and it was excellent. Very happy with the friendly staff and quick service. The room, the lobby and hallway were always clean, anything that I requested extra (complimentary) was serviced really fast.

Usually we are Fairmont fans but this Fairmont let’s the brand down. Staff were not as friendly and helpful as at The Chateau, The Empress and the Fairmont Waterfront hotel where we had great experiences. Bathrooms tiny, old and dated. You could have knocked a nail in with the French bread at breakfast as it was so hardly…clearly not fresh. Billing at checkout incorrect, not in our favour, obviously. Dogs at concierge are cute and give a friendly feel to the place. It’s a great location but we won’t be staying again.
