    7th Visit to Grand Palladium Resorts

    This was my 7th visit to the Grand Palladium Resorts and the second to this specific resort. Due to the number of return visits, the Grand Palladium, as a matter of policy, offers a number of amenity upgrades. The fact that we were return visitors was communicated to the Resort by our travel agent. Notwithstanding this, our room was not available at the normal check-in time and the Front Desk disputed our return visitor status and one of the front desk staff implied that we were lying.. This matter was finally resoived afetr 3 days and after multiple visits to the Front Desk and after speaking with several managers. However, despite these inconveniences, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The resort is well maintained, the cleanliness is outstanding and other than the Front Desk, the service is impeccable. The quality of the food was very good for the most part, with one exception- the seafood restaurant, the Poseidon. Despite the poor food at this restaurant, the meal turned out to be be enjoyable due to the exceptionlal service and attention provided by the server, Jhonathan Bladimir. Noteworthy as the service provided by Larissa Cabrera at the Concierge Desk for assisting us with our problems with the Front Desk and accommodating our dinner rfeservations for our group.Omar at the SPA Services was a true ambassador for the hotel and during our daily discussions with him, he was able to provide true insight into what the resort had to offer and to the many amenities around the resort. We will likely return to this resort and hope that in future, the Resort will live up to its promise to return visitors.

    Amazing place!

    This is an amazing resort. Pools, food, service and entertainment was always amazing. Personally, as a vegetarian the staff was always able to assist me with my meals. It is great being able to use the Kantenah and the White Sands resort and if you get a chance, check out the spa! The only thing lacking about this resort was the beach and the amount of seaweed, this mary vary based on the time of travel though. Overall, amazing resort!

    Wonderful experience. We have nothing but wonderful things to say about the location, beach accommodations, food, pool, etc. However the most appealing feature this resort features is the staff. We will def be back with our family.

    Positive Experience despite the Corona Virus Crisis

    This is the 5th time we have been to this resort. It was for a 14 night stay. The second week the hotel was affected by the Corona Virus issues which, given that they are beyond the hotels control, I am going to largely ignore and concentrate my review on the first week, which was great. I have no doubt that but for corona, my second week would have been as good as the first. On arrival, we were checked in by a very efficient and Friendly Carlos in the Kantenah Lobby. All of the room requests that we had asked for prior to arrival were met. We were put in Block 20. Great location within easy reach of the Colonial / Kantenah sections and the White Sands Complex. My only negative is that the bathrooms could do with some updating. That said, the room was well appointed and comfortable. Had a problem in the bathroom but this was speedily rectified by the hotel. Guest services were very efficient, booking me tables at the a la carte restaurants Food in the buffet restaurants was great. The breakfasts are to die for. Staff were very attentive, whether you chose to tip or not. We ate in two al la carte restaurants, Portofino (Italian) and El Dorado (steak). Very satisfied with both of them. Indeed, we ate at each one more than once. Quality of drinks I thought was OK. You can pay extra for top shelf drinks but to my mind, the whiskey (including JD and Jameson's) in Hemmingway's and Churchill's is perfectly adequate Spent a lot of time at El Secreto adults pool being served and entertained by Jorge. He is a star. Evenings in Hemmingway where Luis looks after us very well (but please can management get the piano tuned). Chocolate night on Thursdays is a calorie overload but has to be done. We liked the new look Churchill's. The mixologist team (Dalia, Luis and Gilmer) are passionate about what they do and the service is excellent. The outside area is very nice. Saw the Rock Show - well worth an hour of your time. The dancers and singers are high energy and it was most enjoyable. There was other entertainment around the resort with singers at various bars, again very very good. Having a beer on Kantenah beech from La Jarra bar about 5 o'clock each evening and just watching the sea was a fabulous experience We like the jungle feel of the resort along with the animals roaming around. So will next year be visit 6????? You bet, its already booked.

    Gripes: Hot food was never really hot just warm… except for the Thai restaurant...always hot The buffet at the Colonial pool wasn’t great - inconsistent quality Pool service for drinks was next to non-existent Ran out of grand marnier at the Colonial lobby bar twice. Reservations – only 2 restaurants require them, but they all ask if you have one – confusing! The Canadian portion of the show ‘Colors’ was just pathetic! They ran out of towels at the pool more than once, and that was early in the day The Spanish restaurant gave David grief over his ‘Bermuda’ shorts being too short...absolute rubbish Good stuff The entertainment was top notch The service at the Colonial lobby bar was excellent.. great group of wait staff Everyone was very cordial and helpful The Rooms were always well kept Loved the outdoor shower The Chang Thai restaurant was the best The Japanese restaurant main menu was really good, the sushi was lacking, but we are picky The freshly made sushi rolls in the Hacienda buffet was actually better than the Japanese restaurant The live music at the pool and in the Colonial lobby was excellent and there was a nice variety. The gym is big with a lot of different machines to choose from. It’s very clean and they provide water bottles and towels. Overall- great resort but it wasn’t busy at all due to travel advisories. We lucked out and had great weather every day except for one thundershower. We were there 3 years ago before this trip and would make a return trip again
