Didn’t receive an upgrade prior to check-in? You may still be eligible to receive a last-minute upgrade at the boarding gate when seats in a higher cabin remain open. When available, upgrades will be automatically allocated to Platinum, Gold and Silver members in priority order by tier, starting with Platinum. The only action required of you is to have an eligible booking, check in a minimum of 75 minutes prior to departure (either online or at the airport) to ensure your booking is captured on the priority list, and check your inbox or Apple Wallet approximately 40 minutes before your flight’s estimated departure to see if you’ve received a new seat assignment and boarding pass.

Lounge Access Benefits

- A valid boarding pass displaying a WestJet flight number for a departing flight must be presented at time of entry.
- Lounge access is valid for member and up to five (5) immediate family members when accompanied by the Gold member and taking a same-day WestJet flight from the same airport.
- Immediate family members are defined as a spouse or common-law partner (including same-sex relationships) and dependent children up to the age of 24 and living at the same address as the member. Have a last-minute change of plans? As a Gold member you may request a same-day change to your itinerary starting at 24 hours before departure and be confirmed on an earlier or later flight on the same calendar day as your original departure at no extra charge, except when travelling on a Basic fare.

What is a same-day change?
- A same-day change is a confirmed flight change requested starting at 24 hours before departure where the only difference is the time of departure. This means, when there is an earlier or later flight available, you may make a change at no extra charge if:
- the flight is from the same origin to the same destination;
- the flight is on the same calendar day as the original departure;
- the flight is operated by WestJet (including WestJet Encore and WestJet Link by Pacific Coastal)
- you purchased one of the following fares: Econo, EconoFlex, Premium, PremiumFlex, Business, BusinessFlex or Member Exclusive (Economy, Premium or Business); and
- there is a seat available in the same cabin as originally booked.
When is a same-day change not available?
- Same-day flight changes are not available when:
- a Basic fare has been purchased;
- you are travelling on a charter flight;
- there is only one departure scheduled for that day; or
- there are no remaining departures available (i.e., you are on the last flight of the day).
- If your reservation is not eligible for a same-day change, regular change and cancel rules (and applicable fees) will apply.
How to make a same-day change
- Gold members may request a maximum of one (1) free same-day flight change for each direction of travel (origin to destination) on the reservation; the change fee in effect for the fare purchased will be charged for all subsequent changes.
- Requests can be made starting at 24 hours before flight departure at the airport or by calling the Gold priority support number.
- A change to an earlier flight must be requested before the new flight’s check-in cut-off time and you must not have checked in any baggage.
- Once you are within any cut-off window (check-in or boarding), you may only make a request for a later flight.
- As an additional benefit, Gold members who miss their original flight may request to make a change up to two hours after the original flight departure time, to a later flight on the same day.
- When part of a WestJet Vacations booking, requests must be made through WestJet Vacations or at the airport.

- WestJet flights are flights marketed by WestJet, which is a flight with a WS carrier code preceding the flight number, and eligible toward tier qualifying spend (see note 1). The flight may be operated by WestJet, WestJet Encore or a partner airline. Earn rate on eligible WestJet-marketed flights is calculated as a percentage back in WestJet dollars on the base fare paid; taxes, fees and charges are not eligible.
- WestJet Vacations packages are packaged vacations for up to nine guests on a single booking which include, at minimum, airfare on WestJet-operated flights and accommodations, and are sold for a combined base package price. Earn rate on eligible WestJet Vacations packages is calculated as a percentage back in WestJet dollars on the base package price and awarded individually to each member on the booking for their proportionate share of the total eligible spend; taxes, fees and charges are not eligible. WestJet dollars are not awarded on WestJet Vacations group bookings (10 or more guests on the same reservation) or vacation package bookings with airfare on Swoop-operated flights.
- Car rentals, hotel stays, meal plans, attractions, and transfers are ancillary products sold individually by a third-party partner, or by WestJet Vacations as a land-only booking (i.e. without airfare). Earn rate on ancillary products is calculated as a set percentage back in WestJet dollars on the total base amount of the completed transaction; taxes, fees, charges, and extras are not eligible. When ancillary products are purchased from a third-party partner, WestJet dollars are awarded to one member only based on the total eligible spend of the booking. When ancillary products are purchased from WestJet Vacations as a land-only booking, WestJet dollars are awarded individually to each member on the booking for their proportionate share of the total eligible spend, except where only one member is listed on all or some of the reservations for the ancillary products, in which case only the member listed will be awarded WestJet dollars for the applicable portion of the eligible spend.

- Milestone awards are directly tied to the member’s milestone qualifying spend at any point in time and are independent of tier qualifying spend and tier status. Members who achieve tier status and benefits through a promotional offer, or through Status Lift, are not eligible to receive milestone awards until the specified milestone qualifying spend requirement(s) are met. Should a member be eligible to choose an award (applicable to awards at $6,000 and above), they will be able to make their selection when signed into their account on westjet.com. The choice must be made, and the award used, prior to the expiry date. Once a choice is made, it is considered final and cannot be reversed, nor can the award selected be exchanged for another option later. - Effective September 1, 2021, milestone qualifying spend is tracked separately from tier qualifying spend. Subject to the exclusions below, milestone qualifying spend is: 1) one hundred per cent of the amount spent on eligible published base fares for WestJet-marketed flights flown by the member within a qualifying year and 2) twenty per cent of the individual portion of the base price of eligible WestJet Vacations packages completed within a qualifying year. The following are not eligible toward milestone qualifying spend: Basic fares, Member Exclusive fares, contracted fares, tour operator fares, WestJet Vacations packages with Swoop-operated flights, WestJet Vacations group package bookings, partner-marketed flights, ancillary partner bookings made on westjet.com, WestJet Vacations land-only bookings, gift cards, taxes, fees, charges, any portion paid with WestJet dollars or other reward program redemption, and any amounts earned from Status Lift. - WestJet dollars can be used towards payment of the base fare of an eligible flight or vacation package, available on westjet.com or through WestJet’s contact centre. WestJet dollars cannot be applied against taxes, fees or charges and can only be used for new bookings. Minimum redemption rules on flights apply when purchasing Economy, Premium or Business fares; the entire base fare must be paid with WestJet dollars when purchasing a Member Exclusive fare.
