Amazing family vacation!
Andrea L on Mar 12, 2024
Amazing vacation! This was our second time staying at this resort, and again, we had zero complaints (4 adults, 2 kids ages 3 and 6 years old). The grounds are spotless and stunning, and the staff is very friendly and kind. There are lots of food/restaurant options - lots of variety at the buffet, and the restaurants do not have to be reserved in advance, so that made it really easy and convenient with the kids. Our favourite was the Asian restaurant - delicious! We loved the beach, pools and entertainment. The hotel is a close drive to the airport. We absolutely loved our stay there and highly recommend it!

We have been to 25 different all inclusives and know our way around the ‘games’ we are polite- great tippers and ready to have fun! The service is painfully slow - the rooms are just plain yuck- so gross my kids didn’t want to shower - mildew and mold everywhere with a nasty smell- bartenders take 20-30 min to get to you EVEN for a $20 tip- it’s truly unreal. Dinner took 2 hours and the food was not good- just eat at the buffet- it’s the same food just played and takes ages. So slippery everywhere - we watched at least 10 people fall. The star camp staff are bright stars they shine bright! Every other staff member interactions were straight up painful- we are super social and fun and traveled with a fun group of 7- the staff move like turtles they don’t wanna be here! We have been to Jamaica 7 times and love the people - this time was so different :( I would encourage you to go to Negril if you want a good vacation
Trip worth every penny!

The Iberostar Rose Hall Suites was an amazing experience for our entire family. The staff was amazing! From the Star Camp for my 9 year old son to the staff who supported our rooms, food, entertainment and so much more! Kids the dyed shirts on the beach and I tasted foods so delicious that I cannot wait to go back!
Day pass at Iberostar selection Rose Hall
SilentWall4ever (Jamaica) on Mar 09, 2024
I decided to do a day pass today and I am extremely impressed by Iberostar selection. Rose Hall. It’s a very beautiful property and I love the energy. What got me was the staircase (I do love a beautiful staircase). I love the fact the beach is big and clean and goes on for miles . Even though there is little entertainment at least it’s very lively. Cora from front desk was greatly and very friendly. We need people like her. The food was great . I would stay here .
Wonderful staff made for a fun girls trip!

Just returned from a super fun mother/daughter girls trip at Rose Hall Suites! The wonderful staff made this a great vacation. Kudos to the entertainment staff- notably Don, Stretch and Ruth. They are amazing at their job- they got our teenagers involved in all types of activities- volleyball tournament, dance class, cornhole, golf, the list goes on and on. There are three properties- Rose Hall Beach, Rose Hall Suites and Rose Hall Grand. People staying at the "beach" property can not go to suites, Suites can go to pools and restaurants at beach and suites, and the folks staying at the grand can access all the properties. The staff, pools, grounds, entertainment, access to the beach property, price-point and quality of the food are all excellent. The grounds are beautiful and immaculately kept. Service on the beach and pool bars was great, and tips were very appreciated. Quality of the food was great. Buffet was very good, and the steak house, Asian, and Mediterranean restaurants on site were delicious. This is not 5 star, but I would say for an all inclusive at this price point, they were excellent. Entertainment was a lot of fun and well attended thanks to the efforts and good nature of the entertainment folks mentioned above- Don, Stretch and Ruth - karaoke, game shows, a foam party, white party, night club. No problems getting beach or pool chairs. Beach was nice, yes, there is seaweed, but what can you do about that!? This is an older property that is showing its age. Lobby area and rooms are very dated, but well kept. Pools, outdoor spaces, common areas (restaurants and bars- not lobby) are more modern. Everyone in our group of 10 had something that was broken in their room at one time or another- the hair dryer, safe, air conditioning, lamps, etc. The ice machines and water fill stations on every hall is a great idea, but in the 4 days I was there, the ice machine on my floor never worked, and the Ice machine and water fill stations on several other floors broke. It often sent us on a bit of a goose chase trying to find water. (There are no disposable water bottles, but they do provide refillable glass water bottles- I recommend bringing your own thermos/Stanley type). The dinner situation at the restaurants is frustrating and needs to be figured out. They say there are no reservations necessary (they don't take them!), and we often had to wait 40-45 minutes for dinner. Restaurants seemed empty, but they wouldn't take us in. I don't know if it was staffing shortages but frustrating to be waiting an hour when the restaurant was no where near capacity. Set your expectations now that you will NOT get into Hibachi. Hibachi is the only restaurant that takes reservations (Which they say you can't make ahead of your stay). We checked in and were told all the reservations for the next four days were already booked. We were told that b/c Hibachi is part of Rose Hall Beach, they can only allow 20 seats for the people at the suites per night. In general, the drinks were good. They did have house wines, higher enter liquors at certain bars (fireball and Aperol for example) Beer selection lacking (they only offered Red Stripe and Red Stripe Light was not available, despite the tap the entire time we were there). A few tips: bring plenty of singles and $5 for tips, there are no straws.. .if you like straws in your drinks, bring disposable paper or metal straws, a few people had floats they brought from home which were fun in the ocean and pool. Lazy river was super lazy and small. Don't expect much. We took full advantage of all the resort had to offer and had a blast doing so. Don't expect 5 star accommodations- but I would say the service and staff are 5 star plus.
