Amazing!

egeza001 (Los Angeles, California) on Jan 26, 2023

Beautiful resort! We stayed at the swim out rooms so it was amazing! Adults only thank God! I would say the point view pool is basic (unlike what the picture shows) but the vibe is nice and make sure you catch the live music there! The rooftop bar closes at 1 but make sure you check it out! They don’t promote it as much so it is dead most of the time! Ramon the bartender is so cool and fun! If you happen to stay in butler suite, hope you get Dane as a butler! Such a sweet guy and helped us around the resort! The restaurants are amazinggggg! PLEASE DON’T STAY AT THE MAHO BEACH! Very pool quality

Fabulous Resort

191Debbied (Guelph, Canada) on Jan 26, 2023

We are just finishing our incredible week at Sonesta. We had a wonderful time enjoying the resort facilities . We were on the adult side which was perfect for us. The pools, especially the Edge pool, which is sort of like an ocean beach, were great. We ate most of our meals at the Azul. It was only crowded one night but otherwise we were practically by ourselves with the exception of a few other guests. The food was phenomenal. Every day had a completely different menu. Big thanks to the chef and the wonderful servers which included Sabe and Andrene. Frankly they were all great.

Fabulous experience

Saasha G on Jan 26, 2023

I’ve been to many hotels and all inclusives but Sonesta tops them all. We checked in early and though our room wasn’t available, we were still able to start our day early grab lunch and enjoy the hotel immediately. They really think of every micro experience you will have as a guest there and find a way to maximize that experience. From the cold and hot scented towels at dinner and lunch that were different scents daily to the menus at the azul restaurant being changed daily. In an all inclusive it’s really hard to do that and the Sonesta does it effortlessly. Rooms We celebrated birthday and they decorated my friends room and made her so happy with treats and sang her Happy birthday at lunchtime with a special treat. She truly enjoyed her day. The rooms were kept squeaky clean and stocked daily by our lovely and friendly housekeeper Loricia. Room 227 gave the best view to watch the planes arrives in the am. The sunrise in the morning were amazing on the balcony. Amenities and Entertainment Though the pools were cold at night in January, during the day they were enjoyable and even had a bbq where the burgers n dogs were amazing. The karaoke in the family resort seemed to be the place at night and the shows at the casino were great. We watched a juggling show which was amazing and they even gave us a casino credit to enjoy the casino. The sunset bar on the 4th floor was a hidden gem and best place to catch a lovely sunset and watch some planes come in. Taxis were available at the hotel entrance at the drop of a dime and all the taxi drivers were nice. As a tourist you always worry about transportation on a foreign island but having taxis all the time relieves stress for me. Staff The most amazing part of being there at this hotel was the staff who go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. In the Azul Restaurant Shinghai and Andrene gave 5 star service with a smile, even asking our names to greet us upon arrival for lunch and dinner. All the staff we encountered were always friendly and professional and was able to answer any questions we had. Dinners We ate most of our meals at Azul and the food was just amazing. The different breads every night was something I looked forward to. The 5 course menu was enjoyable every night and the buffet breakfast was delicious. Those Johnny cakes in the morning were my fav. Portofino dinner was good but some of the entrees could’ve been better, however they were still enjoyable.

Nothing special

Sandra C (Orange County, California) on Jan 22, 2023

Booked this prior to a cruise for a few nights. The small beach was ok and the pools were crowded. Walked to a nearby public beach, Mullet Bay which was much nicer. The food was average and generic. Room was large but our ocean view actually obstructed and overlooked a rooftop with the ocean beyond that. Tried to change rooms but they only options they provided us was for an up charge of $1,000+ per night. We passed. Also, we realized it was by the airport but didn’t expect the load roar of constant planes starting at 7:00AM.

Great hotel and amazing Butler Ranjeet

17taras (Laconia, New Hampshire) on Jan 20, 2023

Our view and room was great. We loved that there was a small area to walk around outside the resort. We would like to recognize our butler Ranjeet. He was amazing and made our trip so much better and took great care of us with room service, reservations and anything we needed at any time!
