First let me start off saying the staff is AMAZING! Especially Dwayne and Lavado!! The grounds are beautiful and the beach is perfect. There’s so much to do as far as water sports or boat excursions. Defiantly go to booby cay island for fresh lobsters for lunch! The two restaurants, Feathers and Lemongrass were really good - amazing service! The nighttime entertainment at the Palms was also great!

    Great, active resort

We visited CSA right before the Covid-19 shut down. Every day I participated in Spin Class as well as some Bootcamp Classes on the beach. My husband took in some tennis lessons and games. Definitely a lot of activities to do! Don't get me wrong, we also lounged in chairs on the beach for hours, walked the beach, and played in the sea. CSA is a place you go for amenities. Snorkeling, glass bottom boat, sunset catamaran cruise, water skiing, racketball, tennis, fitness classes. The food was good, the drinks were good, and the rooms were good. Not fabulous; but good. Breakfast is always our favorite. Post Covid-19 re-opening I am not sure what amenities are open and available. If you want things to do this is it! We will definitely be back after testing and the authorization are not required.

We were booked for our 4th trip to Sans Souci when Couples decided for (understandable) business reasons to close 2 resorts to consolidate business. We were offered a very generous deal to transfer our reservation to Swept Away we decided to take the opportunity to see the west side of the island. We were a little worried that the vacation (Covid aside) would not match up to our previous experiences at Sans Souci but no worries. Couples Resorts have an excellent business model and we definitely felt the same level of excellent customer service at Swept Away. Every single member of staff we encountered were warm, friendly and welcoming. Food was wonderful. Dive shop is great and Kailea in watersports looked after me when my husband dived every day. Weather was perfect..rain 2 afternoons out of 10....not enough to sideline us. Spa was excellent...we had 2 Couples massage with Wanda and Annette. We did not really do much else as we were still being cautious but we were very happy with all the safety protocols Couples had in place. Although not at full capacity just by the nature of the layout it felt that Swept Away is a bit livelier and perhaps a slightly younger profile than we have encountered in Sans Souci but that is not a bad thing. In fact now we are conflicted...perhaps a split stay next time!

We booked this trip out a year in advance, pushed it back once, then when looking at Jamaica Covid vs USA, it looked safer to be in Jamaica. I had been traveling for work Sep thru Oct via flying and had no issues. So we decided to go for it. Back 7 days now and knock on wood, no Covid! Our travels to Couples Swept Away (CSA) in Negril Jamaica started off with flying out of Kansas City to Orlando (the only non-stop Southwest has to Florida due to the change in their schedule because of Covid-19). We stayed at the Hyatt located inside the Orlando airport on Friday. Vey nice hotel, rooms were big and everything was clean. The Hyatt has a roof top pool located on the 6th floor, which we took advantage of. We order drinks and they bring them to the pool (there is a phone on the wall you are supposed to use, but didn’t work so we called from our cell phones) and they had them there in about 20 minutes. The pool area was nice, had palm trees and you watch plains take off from the airport. On Saturday morning, we simply left the hotel walked about 50 feet and we were at the security checkpoint, which was the line was very short as we were flying during a pandemic. We had received our negative covid-19 test 6 day prior to our Jamaica flight date. We got online to apply for the Jamaica Travel Authorization, which came back within 5 minutes of applying. When flying Southwest, you check in to get your boarding pass you must show you negative covid-19 test and travel authorization to the agent. If everything is in order, they stamp you boarding pass with a big red “Documents OK”. This must be on your boarding pass for you to board the plane and they warn you about this multiple times while waiting for our flight. We boarded the plane and 2 hours later were landing in Jamaica. At Montego Bay Airport, they will check your temperature and give you a piece of paper with your temperature on it. You then are called to a table where you sit down and give them the temperature paper and covid-19 test results etc. go over some questions with a Jamaican health official. Apparently, the message the officials give to everyone is not consistent. We talked to a few people and they had told us things they were told that were different from what we were told. All in all, it was a smooth process and we were out of the airport in about 30 minutes. Although this was our 8th time to Jamaica, it was our first time to a Couples resort. Negril is our favorite area of Jamaica, very laid back and as they say in Jamaica, “The West end is the best end”. CSA is located right about the middle of the world famous 7 Mile Beach. We did not use the Couples transportation (we did use it going back to the airport), as we have a great tour guide we have used our last 6 times to Jamaica and he took us to CSA. We stopped at Miss Lily's for lunch located at the Skylark Negril Beach Resort, just down the road from CSA and had a very good lunch there. Arriving at CSA (90 minutes from the airport), we had to wear a mask and have a temperature check. They provide you with a welcome drink as you arrive. Check in is to the right as you first walk into the main lobby. It was quick and easy. Be sure to ask for you $100 per room resort credit by showing your negative covid-19 test results. All employees wore mask, even when outside. A CSA employee collected our luggage and took us to our room, 3315 (OCEAN VERANDAH SUITE). We did not have a view of the ocean as a lot of vegetation blocking it. This was not a bad thing, as it was very lush and tropical. Even some of the suite right on the beach had vegetations locking the view for some suites. Our room had A/C which worked great and a TV with a lot of channels. Also, a small fridge that they stock daily as long as you leave a filled out form the night before for what you want the next day. They also provided a continental breakfast delivered to your room, which you must leave a form on the door for this as well. The rooms were cleaned daily. We did have an issue with our blow-dryer, which took 3 days for somebody to look at (we called everyday about it), not a big deal though. I think they could add some shelfs in the restroom for more area to store your toiletries. Around prime showering time 6 to 7 pm, hot water was a hit or miss. We loved the ceiling fan on the balcony. We took a few command strip hooks for extra hanging space; we also brought some extra hangers and were glad we did. No elevators in the buildings, which helped to burn off all the great food we had. We mainly ate at THE PALMS, which is buffet style, but with covid-19, they served up the food to you. They changed the menu for the most part each day and usually had a station where they would prepare a fresh dish. PATOIS PATIO, which was sit down and order style, this usually took about an hour to hour and a half to eat here. CABANA GRILL, you can get a quick bite from a limited menu. All the food we had was good, but the hamburgers we had twice were always overcooked. They check your temperature before you enter at each restaurant and must wear a mask to be seated, except the CABANA GRILL. We did not eat at the FEATHERS or LEMON GRASS, as we did not want to have dinners that take two to three hours. The resort was about 50% full. There were plenty of loungers and shade at the beach. We could only find one towel hut for beach towels, which is at the South end of the resort. Beach was spectacular as always. If you walk the beach to the South it is blocked by a building, but you can continue if you go in to the water and go around the building. To the North it was walkable. At both locations CSA security stops you and ask for your room number then you can proceed. Beach vendor we very present, but we are use to that after all of our times here. The beach vendors cannot come on to the CSA property, but even walking on the side walk they would still try to get your attention by yelling at you. The two main pools we nice and refreshing. The pool at the North end was much quieter than the South end, which has the swim up bar. The hot tubs had a good temperature, but most did not have very powerful jets and the timer did not work half the time. Due to covid-19 all bars close at 11PM and if you are a dancer the disco was closed. We enjoyed the bonfire on the beach (even if they did have trouble keeping it going). We also went to the mixology class, which was fun and you leave felling pretty good after trying the 4 or 5 martinis they show you how to make. They even have a very small casino. The sports/spa complex across the street was very nice. Even if you do not use it, you should check it out, very quiet over there. Overall, we had a great time. The resort was very nice and we would return here again sometime.

Friday evening we met the most talented portrait artist I have ever had the pleasure to meet at the entrance to dinner at the palms. Stanley worked with us to capture the bride and groom on the most magical day of their life. He returned to the resort to get a picture and worked tirelessly to complete it. He set up a special reveal party. The group in attendance were speechless when the portrait was revealed. Not only is he an incredibly talented artist, he was a wonderful gentleman. This will be treasured for a lifetime. I highly recommend commissioning Stanley, you will be amazed.
